If you haven’t found what you’re looking for, perhaps this section will help answer some of those questions.
What sort of application should I send in and how should I send it?
A covering letter and resume are perfect and all that is required in the initial application stage. You should ideally complete this online through Seek, the Talentpath website or send direct to consultants via email. If you have testing results, it is a great idea to bring those with you at interview stage. Your resume should contain no more than five pages and provide exact details of duties you have performed in your roles, your skills, achievements and strengths.
Who will see my application? Is it confidential?
Your application will be held in strict confidence and will be viewed by the consultant to whom you applied. Once you have participated in an interview with Talentpath and provided written consent for your details to be held on our database, they will be uploaded to the Talentpath database. At this stage only employees of Talentpath will be able to view your details. Once you express an interest in a role we are recruiting for, we will discuss with you forwarding your confidential details to our client, again in the strictest confidence.
What happens once I’ve applied?
Applicants will receive feedback within 24 hours of their application whether they are successful or not.
Candidates with the relevant skills and experience will be phone screened by the consultant. During the phone screen you will be asked to provide a little more detail to establish your skills fit for the role and for us to provide you with information on the position and the organisation. If you love the sound of the role and the company, you will be invited to an interview either at our offices or a location suitable to you. From there, a detailed brief of your information will be presented to our client and an interview will be coordinated. As per the recruitment plan you will be informed at every stage of the process and we will provide interview coaching, role plays and company research – whatever you need!
Candidates that do not meet the required skills detailed in the job advertisements, but have relevant skills and experience for the occupations we recruit will be given the option to meet with us for a ‘general’ registration process.
What will happen during my interview with Talentpath?
Relaxed, fun and informative. It is important to us that you feel comfortable throughout the entire process with Talentpath. We aim to develop a long term career partnering relationship with you. We are dedicated to getting to know everything about you, your motivations, short and long term career ambitions and personal passions. We hope that your experience with Talentpath will be unique, not clinical and impersonal.
Our interviews are constructed in four parts:
Does Talentpath reference check?
Absolutely. It is important for us to speak with your past employers to confirm the details you have provided and to get an overview of your on the job performance. It also helps us to present a more complete profile pack to our clients.
Do I need to include evidence of my qualifications, certificates, licenses and tickets?
Please do, the more information you provide in your initial resume application, the better your chances of establishing you meet all the requirements asked to undertake the role.
Can I apply online?
We would love you to. Online is certainly the most efficient way for you to submit your application. You can apply directly to a Seek advertisement, a role advertised on the Talentpath Career Billboard or send your details directly to the most appropriate consultant.
How long is the recruitment process likely to take?
We would love to tell you overnight but there are many stages to the recruitment cycle and it is important that the process is not rushed but also not drawn out. We like to present candidate details to our clients within 48 hours of receiving the assignment. But many things can slow the process down including interview availability from clients and candidates. As a general rule, as an applicant, you should expect the process to take no longer than one week from interview to offer.
What if my application is late?
Don’t be discouraged. We will remove roles from all media once the role has been filled. So you should presume that if you see a ‘live’ Talenpath vacancy the recruitment is still active.
Can I apply for a position overseas?
Talentpath currently recruits within Australia only.
What industries do you recruit for and operate in?
We have an occupation focus rather than an industry focus. We work with candidates across Human Resources, Marketing, Sales and Business Support (Administration, Reception, PA’s & EA’s, Business Analysts, Accounts Support). We feel candidates in these occupations have extremely transferable skills and can apply them across industry streams. Our industry scope is extremely broad and we work with employers in Mining, Engineering, Construction, Professional Services, Government, Fashion and Marketing.
Whom should I nominate as a referee and when will they be contacted?
Ideally your referees will be Managers you have reported directly to. We like to complete at least one verbal reference before we present your details to our clients, we will always gain your verbal and written permission before completing references.
What if I require special support during the interview process?
As much as we want you to enjoy your interview with us and have fun there is certainly an important process to be undertaken, we are talking about your career! If you have special requests that we need to accommodate for you to undertake an interview with us we will go out of our way to provide these. Please inform your consultant at the beginning of your application process.
So how long do interviews normally take?
Initial interviews will generally take 30 to 45 minutes. This is an important part of the job search process so it is critical at this stage that we have as much information about you as possible.
Can I submit my resume without applying for a specific position?
Absolutely. We work closely with both active candidates and those who have a more passive approach. You may be considering a career move at the end of the month or year so current vacancies won't be of interest.
